Car insurance in The Netherlands
A car insurance covers damage to or caused with your own car. In The Netherlands there are essentially three different kinds of car insurance:
WA (Third Party Insurance)
Covers damage you caused with your car, but not your own damage. This is the legally required minimum coverage.
WA + Limited Insurance on Bodywork (WA Plus)
Apart from third party insurance, this also covers damages to your own car by fire, theft, storm, and broken windows. Damage caused by yourself is not covered.
WA + Full Insurance on Bodywork (All Risk)
Covers all damage, including the damage to your own car that you caused yourself. Ideal for newer, more expensive cars.
